Manufactures will normally insist on servicing the heat pump every year to uphold the product warranty. Annual servicing is also a good opportunity to make sure it continues to run as efficiently as possible. Get in contact if you would like to discuss any servicing or maintenance needs.
An air source heat pump extracts heat from the outside air in the same way that a fridge extracts heat from its inside. It absorbs heat from the air even when the temperature is as low as -15° C.
Heat from the air is absorbed at low temperature into a fluid. This fluid then passes through a compressor where its temperature is increased, and transfers its higher temperature heat to the heating and hot water circuits of the house.
The award-winning Ecodan range of air source heat pumps from Mitsubishi Electric is suitable for both small and large homes and delivers effective, low carbon heating and hot water.
Ecodan heat pumps provide a simple, renewable solution that rivals traditional heating systems. It is also ideal for underfloor heating requirements and can even work in combination with existing heating systems as a hybrid solution.
The new Ultra Quiet Ecodan is 3 times quieter than previous models, providing complete installation flexibility under current domestic permitted development standards (MCS020).

The Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) is a government backed financial incentive scheme designed to encourage UK homes to swap to renewable heating systems. Under the RHI, heat pump system owners are rewarded for the renewable heat they generate over a seven-year period.
Who Is Eligible? Anyone who retrofits an air source or ground source heat pump in a single domestic property is eligible for RHI payments (whether they are an owner-occupier or private/social landlord). Self-build properties are the only new-build installations that are eligible. To qualify for RHI payments, your system needs to have been fitted by an installer who has the right training and accreditation under the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS).
